Teacher greets learners and sets environmentally – friendly atmosphere with in the classroom. Greeting -Good morning, children. I’m glad to see you. Today we have unusual lesson, because we have guests. And I hope, you’ ll be active and attentive on the lesson. The teacher using the educational resource «Bilimland.kz» is trying to lead students to the topic of the lesson. After completing the task, the children call the topic. Then the students determine the aim of the lesson. Review kinds of weathers: Work chorally and in pairs. It’s snowing. It’s hot. It’s cold. It’s raining. It’s windy. It’s foggy. It’s cloudy. It’s sunny. Let’s play. One pupil shows her/his drawing and ask: What am I doing? The other pupil answers: You are swimming. It’s summer. | |

Pupils' books open. Play the CD. The pupils listen, point to the words and repeat. If you wish, play the CD again pausing after each word. The pupils repeat, chorally and/or individually. Match the short dialogues to some new words: 1. A: What was that light and noise? B: Don’t worry. Dear! Go back to sleep. (thunder and lightning) 2. A: We couldn’t get out of the house. B: Why not? A: There was water everywhere! (flood) 3. A: What did you see? B: I saw a big ball of snow rolling down the mounting. 4. A: And then? What happened ? B: Small balls of ice fell from the sky. STUDY SPOT (Activities to present and practice the modal 'can'.) Make sentences. Pupils' books closed. Briefly revise the modal can. Explain that it is the same for all persons. Then, say and write on the board: Can you close the door, please? Yes, I can. The pupils repeat chorally and/or individually. Underline the word in bold and explain that we use can for requests. Then, say and write on the board: Can I go out, dad? No, you can't. The pupils repeat chorally and/or individually. Underline the word in bold and explain that we also use can to ask for permission. Pupils' books open. Go through the Study spot section briefly. Read the example and explain the activity. Go through the prompts and elicit/explain any unknown words.
